Ahhhhhhh Valentines Day…I have flashbacks of the anticipation I would feel in elementary school. The prep work was the best. I spent hours on hand made valentines and every classmate would carefully construct an incoming “mailbox” out of a shoebox, construction paper and candy hearts. And then the big payout…taking that mailbox home and carefully sifting through each and every valentine…searching for the one I really cared about. It was all about the surprise…a little extra candy or a special note. A scribbled “x” and “o” from your crush held the sweetest possibilities and I learned what it meant to have “butterflies”. We are older now, probably a bit more jaded and can definitely see through the commercialism of Valentine’s Day. But for the lovers of love, the hopeless romantics if you are in the mood to surprise your valentine, check out Jo’s gift guide. Love is in the air…you just have to remember what it feels like.
